News Alert

Hello Everyone,

The ECAA News Alert is our way of keeping the art association membership and friends updated and informed of upcoming events open to all El Camino Artists.

I want to personally thank each of you for paying your membership dues, and together, we can make this organization grow and prosper in 2008.  I'm pleased to report that we have 42 paid members at this time with more on the way and that bodes well with our immediate plans to go forward.  Shortly, we will be sending out more specific information relating to art shows planned for the summer concert series scheduled at the A.G. Village Bandstand on Sundays from June through September.  In the meantime, read the information below if you're interested in participating in a great art show at the United Methodist Church in SLO.

The Church has big plans for their inaugural art show that will certainly bring us positive publicity in supporting the arts and the new facility at the UMC in San Luis Obispo.  Remember, this is a church event coordinated by the church and all communication with them can be accomplished by clicking  on the UMC website link below and or contacting Joe Timmons online by calling 805-541-9441 for brochure and entry form.

ECAA NEWS UPDATE
February 13, 2008

Village of Arroyo Grande - June 8, 2008

I have been informed by Curtis Reinhardt, Manager of the A.G. Village/Bandstand Summer Concert Series that ECAA has been given the Sunday, June 8, 2008 slot as the "featured non-profit"  to show/display art work during the Cal Poly's #1 Jazz Big Band gig with opening combo.  This is the kick-off date for the summer concert series.  With advertising and all we should see a very large attendance of music lovers and that provides us great exposure as local artists.  All of the event details are being worked on and that will be forthcoming.

The summer concert series is sponsored by Rabobank, A.G. Village Assn. and Arroyo Grande Parks and Recreation Dept.

Major Media Sponsors are KSBY, KVEC and The Tribune

NOTE:  I will be the ECAA venue coordinator for the summer concert series and please, contact me if you're interersted in showing your art on Sunday, June 8, 2008 by email or telephone me at 489-6597. As you know there has been much interest in establishing more quality art show venues to display ECAA art work. I personally see this as a wonderful opportunity to establish ourselves as a viable art group on the Central Coast of California.

You've witnessed how Dinosour Caves came into being as a popular place to sell art.  So look to the future and get involved with the Summer Concert Series on the green at the A.G. Villiage Band Stand.  It promises to be an interesting day and who knows you might sell a peice or two.  While enjoying the sounds of the Cal Poly #1 Jazz Group and with the major media sponsors we should expect good media exposure on local TV and in the Newspapers.

To participate in these art shows you must be a member of the ECAA.

Thank you,
Carol Smith - ECAA President
El Camino Art Assn.
